Lately many of us have really felt compelled to learn about the historical context behind the racial inequalities we face today, whether in education, the criminal justice system, the workforce, and even in church life. Understanding the history of racism in the U.S. can help us discern how to work for racial justice and healing.Would you be interested in joining us? YAM·LA is planning to facilitate an 8-session program called Faith and Racial Healing: Embracing Truth, Justice and Restoration (written by JustFaith Ministries) in which small groups pray together, read books and watch videos, and have conversations around how we can seek racial justice in our community. We’ll gather in groups of 8-12 young adults on Zoom. The program will be offered virtually and for free to all young adults in the Archdiocese of LA, less the cost of books, beginning the last week of August. Please fill out the form below and let us know if you might be interested. We’ll be sending out more information in the coming days and registration will open August 6.
Please see this booklet with information about the program and let us know if you have any questions. You can also watch this video about JustFaith Ministries’ entire racial justice series at: https://youtu.be/uNEtuvGRXjU and hear from a JustFaith graduate about what the small group experience is like: https://youtu.be/kknNlcc5YAs.
We’d love for you to be a part of this – let us know if you’re interested in joining the conversation!
